The Couple Got The Perfect Quadruplets In Colorado

The couple – Hannah and Ted worked hard for 5 years to have a baby. Even trying IVF (in vitro fertilization) and fertility treatments. After nothing worked, they began to consider adopting a child but ultimately decided to have a biological child. They decided to do IUI (Intrauterine Insemination). Their doctor told them that IUI wasn’t much likely to work after IVF failed, but they decided to go for it anyway. At the follow-up appointment, the doctor was able to find three beautiful heartbeats. Overjoyed, they began planning for triplets.

Then, at their eight-week check-up, they were s.hocked to discover another heartbeat behind one of its siblings. Ted and Hannah are expecting quadruplets! During her pregnancy, Hannah carried all 4 f.etuse to 32 weeks and 4 days! What an amazing feat for quadruplets! A boy and 3 girls born on January 22, 2018! In order of birth, Harry, Catherine, Frances and Helen – all named after members of their families.

The babies had to stay in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit), mainly to learn how to eat. They left the NICU in record time and are now just over three months old (one month adjusted to the due date) and doing great. After we set a date for these beautiful babies to come to my Brighton studio, I started planning a session that would be tailored to these wonders. They told me they really love simple and timeless images and they wanted me to be as creative as I wanted with a custom setup designed just for them.

After thinking about it for a few days, I wanted to keep them close to nature and have colors that the family likes. So with Hello Baby Photography giving me a little bit of nature inspiration, I searched for the perfect piece. While these quartets will forever have a shared bond in the womb and share many similarities, it was important to me to show that each baby is unique with their very own personality. So I planned to have each baby in a different type of basket for one of their pictures together.

In order: a leaf, twig, wicker, and bark. Each baby is part of a whole while being different. My favorite part was remembering Helen was awake, as their mother told me she used to stay awake while her siblings slept. It’s been amazing to see this vision come to life around these new babies. Of course, I also made sure we gave Mom and Dad the option to have timeless images! We chose a simple brown blanket and let each baby have a different color and the same white wrap. These children are perfect and I am honored to be able to give this family something wonderful to cherish as they all continue to grow together.

I knew I would need a few extra hands to get through this session safely, from helping soothe to spotting each baby to making sure they were safe at all times. Brittany Gambin from Brittany Gambin Newborn Photography, Jamie Herrera from Jaime Herrera Photography, and DeAnna Weyhrich from ddWeyhrich Birth Photography all volunteered their time to support me. I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me during this session, I wouldn’t have been able to do it all without them. Do you have any advice for any new parents?
